OLED panel, more powerful hardware and better sound to compete in the upper part of the market
Philips, one of the historic TV brands, has introduced a new model to the market. Philips OLED + 935 is the new Smart TV at the top of the brand, a television that becomes the newsgroup that we will now see.
Philips OLED + 935 is available in two standardized sizes: 55 and 65 inches. Philips TV uses an image processor, a technology that prevents panel retention and improves sound compared to other Philips TV models.
The new processor and better sound
We are talking about 55 "and 65" diagonals, to which the 48 "version will later be added. Philips OLED + 935 is based on LG's OLED panel. It reaches the expected 3840 x 2160 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16: 9.
Among the novelties inside, we came across a new image processor, the 4th generation SoC P5, which is accompanied in its performance by an artificial intelligence (AI) processor that uses neural networks and machine learning to analyze a huge base image data for this purpose. and therefore improve the final result when working with aspects of color, contrast, sharpness or movement in real-time.
This pairing also aims to avoid one of the long-term ills of
OLED panels, such as screen wear and tear. The AI processor is responsible for
examining the grid of 32,400 areas that covers the entire panel, in order to
identify static content (the famous flies of TV networks and other logos and
banners) and adjust the brightness of the pixels that they intervene in the
prevention of wear. but without compromising the brightness of other areas of
the screen.
Along with the filmmaker mode, there are also two new picture modes: Pure Cinema and Movie Motion. Also, we couldn't give up the 4-way Ambilight to make it easier to immerse yourself in on-screen content. One of the strengths of this model is the sound, on which Philips has worked intensively with Bowers & Wilkins.
This TV is equipped with ten speakers in a 3.1.2 topology, including three 19mm titanium dome tweeters separated from the other speakers. It also integrates four 50mm diaphragm drivers for mid-range operation and a 100 x 65mm subwoofer with Bowers & Wilkins Flowport technology. The other two speakers have a 50mm diaphragm and are positioned on top of the array to give users the sense of height they need to virtualize Dolby Atmos soundtracks.
Price and availability
Philips OLED + 935 will go on sale during September in 55 and 65-inch versions, while the 48-inch version will have to wait until October. We don't have any news about the price yet.
