THE BEAT OF TECHNOLOGY
Over the years, technology has become an incredibly empowering tool. As times change, we see the role models that are needed to motivate the next generation of women to get involved in technology. This is evidenced by the dramatic increase in the number of films and documentaries that capture the attention of inspiring women like Dream Girl. Therefore, empowerment and empowerment of women are completely transforming industry and society for the better.
At Beat, we create technology to improve urban life by cultivating a culture of equality and an inspiring and healthy environment in which everyone can develop according to their unique skills and talents. Taking advantage of March, a month dedicated to women around the world, we organized our first virtual round table in Latin America, bringing together five women leaders in technology to share knowledge, experiences and vision for the future.
Our virtual roundtable on Women Leaders in Technology,
presented by Beat, took place on March 17th. This initiative was created to
enhance career opportunities in the technology industry and empower women in
technology.
The virtual table was moderated by Jimena de la Quintana, a renowned Peruvian journalist specialized in economics and business.
“For Beat, women are the heart of technology. This round table was an attempt to bring about change. Hiring the best talent is a matter of survival for all tech companies, but good teams are made up of people with different perspectives and backgrounds. However, diversity is key. While men have dominated the tech industry for years, this is changing. In fact, technology is a great career for all women who love challenges and many opportunities, ”said Cecile Novion, vice president of operations for Latin America at Beat.
During the event, inspiring thoughts and stories emerged. Anai Lavado, Crehana's director of human resources, encouraged women to love both the problem and the solution, because technology is a means to meet the needs of many people. Luciana Reznik, co-founder of Wolox, emphasized the need to explore technology as a creative tool that opens up endless possibilities.
Ana Isabelle Sordo, Customer Engagement and Awareness Marketing Manager for Latin America at HubSpot, noted that in the tech world, a woman is likely to find herself sometimes the only woman in the room. If so, you should take a moment to celebrate, focus, and add value to the organization.
“It is important to understand what diversity is. Diverse
teams can generate great ideas simply because each member has a different
perspective, which leads to a broader perspective. This is the beauty of
diversity. My advice to future generations of women dreaming of careers in
technology? Aim high! Work hard! Stay optimistic! “Said Patricia Yesben,
Argentine general manager of Beat.
